Charging a smartphone via usb from pc - battery empty

Hey all,

i have a friend who borrowed my spv c500 for his vacation, taking only the usb cable with him for the pc .

Unfortunately, the battery run out before he could get access to a pc,

and now when he connects it to the usb, it cant power up because the battery

is out.

Is there any way to "push" voltage through the usb cable if the phone is swiched off??

Not as far as I am aware, if the battery voltage gets too low and the phone will not power on etc you can then only charge from the mains.
