Guest ramblin66 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 (edited) So.. I've been using WM6 Smartphone on my iPAQ 510 for a week now.. Previously, I had WM 2003 on a QTek 8010.. I have two very annoying issues... Some might think these are minor, but they are both causing me a major rash... If anyone can offer some help [iT help... I already tried ointment on my rash], it would be most appreciated. First... On WM 2003... setting the ringer to "Ring and Vibrate" would cause the vibrator to alert continuously until the call was answered or until it rolled to voicemail. Simultaneously, whatever ringtone I chose would continue to play. If I used a long MP3 file as my ringtone, the vibration alert would still go on continuously until the call was answered/rolled.. This is what I want to happen on WM6... But.. On WM6... setting the ringer the same way will cause the ringtone to play and the vibrator to alert for 2-3 seconds, then the vibrator will stop... The vibration does not kick on again until the ringtone finishes and the alert starts over [repeats], at which time the vibration kicks in for another 2-3 seconds... I've tried hacking the WM6 registry and playing with the "Ringer0" settings... but.. the only way I can find to get the vibration alert to ring repeatedly while the ringtone is playing is to have a really short ringtone that repeats... By changing registry settings I can get the vibration to go longer, but the ringtone will not play until the vibrator stops [v0p is the only setting where the vibration and ringtone will execute simultaneously].. I went back to my QTek and checked the registry and sure enough.. the reg setting is the same on both devices but the execution on the WM6 device does not allow the vibrator to ring continuously. Any Suggestions/fixes?? Maybe another registry setting that affects the vibration behavior???? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Issue #2... Why is it that I cannot adjust my activesync settings for "Contacts" with WM6??? I am forced to synch all 300+ contacts from outlook.. Using the same PC with the same version of activesync [4.5.0]... I CAN edit settings for the QTeck device... But "settings" is grayed out when I attach the WM6 iPAQ.. According to the MSD site, this is a known "issue", and the MS suggested workaround is to copy all my non-sync contacts to a separate directory... An unacceptable solution for sure.. Any assistance would be appreciated.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'll post this one in another forum.. but.. while I'm typing... If anyone has Skype for SMARTPHONE 2.2.0.20 Beta.. Please PM me.. The full release version 2.2.0.36 does not support the iPAQ 510, but the Beta version does...!! I can't find a copy of the beta anywhere. Thanks very much for tolerating this rant..
