ROM's

Hi there, I see everyone talking about rom's to fix bugs in their phones. Are these like firmware updates? And are they official from HTC, microsoft, etc?

ROM upgrades are usually distributed by the phones reseller.

ie HTC will release ROM upgrades for their HTC branded devices. Orange will release updated for their devices (even though their devices are also HTC manufactured)

But there are plenty of 'cooked' ROM's for most HTC devices which usually immprove over the basic ones provided.
