Guest Ka-Lin Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Hi, my name is Kalin, I'm 26 year old, and I'm from Varna, Bulgaria, Europe. This is my first post, and typically for a newbie, the answers of my questions was already given... (my english is not good, excuse me) So, here is it. I have Qtek S200 (HTC Prophet) with WM5 installed by the factory. I want to upgrade to WM6, but i need some answers before to make that step: 1. I want to back up my original, factory ROM, in case to downgrade later, if some get's wrong. How to backup my ROM, and eventually - how to restore it? (software needed?) 2. Before upgrading to WM6, should I have a full charged battery, in order to prevent future "bad battery life" when WM6 is installed? 3. Will I get a shortest battery life with WM6, in comparison with WM5 one? That's it.. Thanks a lot for taking time:) Regards!
Guest Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) Hi Kalin, welcome to the group ;) 1st of all, there is no official upgrade to WM6 for you're device so you will void you're warranty by trying and should something go wrong ...... well, you know the rest ..... 1. I want to back up my original, factory ROM, in case to downgrade later, if some get's wrong. How to backup my ROM, and eventually - how to restore it? (software needed?) You should be able to download the latest WM5 ROM from the qtek site. There is no guarantee that you will be able to restore WM5 if the upgrade goes wrong. 2. Before upgrading to WM6, should I have a full charged battery, in order to prevent future "bad battery life" when WM6 is installed? In general, when upgrading the ROM you need min 50% battery. Personally I always make sure it's almost fully charged 3. Will I get a shortest battery life with WM6, in comparison with WM5 one? As there is no offical upgrade it may be hard to find an answer to that. Previously I upgraded my WM5 Dash to WM6 and it did not seem to shorten the battery life, although it may differ from device to device. hth gr Edited September 25, 2007 by Guest

(Because when I've searched for it, I was unable to find the ROM, in official site) Edited September 25, 2007 by Ka-Lin
