Guest unclesomebody Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 I'm trying to get igo 2006 to work on the vox but every time I run the .exe file it begins loading and then I get this error message; alert C:\GPS_2006R3_iGO_SE\firefly\base\core\ffsurface.cpp:299 Exception in Endpaint exiting application. I don't know what this means, and my searches for information via google have led me to many russian/french/malaysian sites which even after an attempted translation are not giving me any solutions. People seem to have had this error and managed to fix it, but I just can't find out how! I'm sure there is someone on these forums who has either tried igo or know of a community full of igo users who could help me with this problem. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks.
Guest Neil5459 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 iGO2006 is not compatible with Windows Mobile Standard devices (ie it only works on touchscreen devices running WM2003 to WM6); Also, it is only supplied on a MiniSD card which is encrypted so that the contents won't work if copied to another card, so it can't be used in devices with a MicroSD card like the Vox, even if the Vox had a compatible OS.
Guest unclesomebody Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Actually, they are shipping it on microsd cards, but I totally failed to realise that it won't work on Windows Mobile standard devices. I think I am going to be upgrading to the kaiser sooner rather than later! Meanwhile, what sat nav software will work with the vox? I know tomtom 6 will work with the fake cursor thing, and tomtom 5 will work alright, but I'm looking for alternatives. How about destinator? Is that vox compatible? Many Thanks for your fast reply!
Guest Neil5459 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Ah- good news about the MicroSD at last- I've been in long dialogues with the importer about that, and other issues, but was told that they had to sell existing stocks before the MicroSD was introduced. Don't know of any others apart from TomTom, but I don't use a Smartphone/WM6 Standard devcie.
