Guest WILBUR Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Just synced my music playlists onto my card using windows media player - all seemed fine, and it completed the first time with no problem. I attached the device again later, and WMP seemed to be taking a long time to synchonise, and had only reached 23% after twenty minutes.... Eventually i found out how to see the view of what was being synchronised, and WMP was trying to convert and then copy all of the photos on my laptop (of which there are lots) onto my device ;) a) wtf? i didn't even remember letting WMP manage my photos on my laptop c) they aren't in the sync list of stuff to be synced d) i can't stop it... so i'm having to let it finish then delete them all...

If your using WMP11 thenyou can expect it to take hold of your photos on your laptop, people online have been complaining about wmp11 taking control of picture files and putting them in the wmp library
Guest WILBUR Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 yup - WMP 11 it finished all my pictures then went on to try and sync all of my video files too. The sync list was empty. I finally found the "Sync>Memory Card>Set up sync" settings, and removed "all music" and "all video" and all the other crap that WMP11 had pre-populated. Worth noting this before anyone else tries to sync!
Guest FloatingFatMan Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I've noticed that whilst my Vario 3 is connected to the PC, WMP11 will no longer actually exit. Leave a video playing, quit the app, and it KEEPS PLAYING THE AUDIO! Reload and it just keeps on going without pause. Only way I've found to kill it is to end task, where it then behaves properly again, unless I unplug and phone and plug it in again...

Yup, it's a know issue, not just the phone that causes it though, pretty much any device that's setup to sync will cause the issue (Memory Stick/Zen/Whatnot) Microsoft have said that they will fix it in a hotfix for Media Player.... When though is anyones guess...
