Guest RickDawson Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I'm looking at this forum, and seeing that people have already got their Kaiser. Where did you get it? How much for? On a contract? (if so how much on contract) etc. I want the details of how you got and paid / paying for it. How come people have got the T-Mobile (UK) version, and it's still on the coming soon page of the T-Mobile site?

Far too much! HTC Branded On a Contract Nope ;)
Guest Phil Lee Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 (edited) I'm looking at this forum, and seeing that people have already got their Kaiser. No problem. Here are my answers to your questions. Where did you get it? - T-Mobile telephone upgrades/loyalty department. I dialled 150 and followed the options until I got through to a nice lady in the Loyalty department who processed the upgrade. How much for? - £100 On a contract? - Yes. I was on an 18 month W&W 100 contract which I have changed to an 18 month Flext25 + W&W. The contract costs me £27.50 per month and includes £60 of credit which is equivalent to 300 minutes of calls or 600 texts plus 1Gb of internet activity. This is a lot better than my old contract where I got 100 minutes of calls, no texts and 40Mb of internet activity. I also upgraded to get a better price on the handset. How come people have got the T-Mobile (UK) version, and it's still on the coming soon page of the T-Mobile site? - Because we rang up the upgrade department and asked for it. T-Mobile (and other operators too) always seem to stagger the release of popular devices with the website being the last place they are shown. Edited October 2, 2007 by Phil Lee
Guest kapot Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Got it from Clove UK, no contract, unlocked version.
Guest nickynoodles Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Got it via T-Mobile upgrades... £100 upgrade on an 18 month Flext20 WnW plan. (£22.50 a month)
Guest RickDawson Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 (edited) I've still got a Universal (just about still going) I've now got to take the battery out and put it in the desktop charger to keep it going (USB socket has damaged pins so can't use it) some of the time when I turn wi-fi on it doesn't connect to my router, even though both are turned on. I think it's time for a replacement, hence this thread. I want to get a Kaiser ;) I've had the universal on contract with O2 12months which finished in March (iirc) and I got a card from O2 seeing if they could do me a better deal and to phone them up to find out. they couldn't do me a better deal without giving me another contract. At that time I worked out that I could do the same on T-Mobile PAYG W'n'W, without the fixed allowance on data. There was no suitable upgrade phone available which was better than the Universal. I got my PAC and went to T-Mobile PAYG W'n'W. That's the current situation. I'm now looking to get the Kaiser on a contract. (UK) My current average spend is around £20 (possibly just over) for my usage. I don't mind paying for the mobile, but not sim-free, as it is too expensive at the current price (even though I could afford it) I went to the local T-Mobile shop in my area (Stockport) and the manager said it would be about 2 weeks before the they get any in. Guest Mr.Clark Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Depending on how much you want to pay/how long you want to wait, I was told by the XDA department that the "Stellar" would be released "by December" and was the O2 version of the TyTN II. I'm giving them until the 20th or so of October to make an announcement before I jump ship to (probably) T-Mobile. I'm only on a £23 per month contract, and that INCLUDES insurance (I won't fall for that one again, I'll stick it on my home insurance)
Guest nickynoodles Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Rick, if you're currently in a TMob contract, you might find that ~£100 to cancel the contract, then ~£100 for the phone is the cheapest way to get it. If you're not in a contract, just keep calling the upgrades department until they give you a reasonable deal.
Guest jharvey00 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Handset = £80 Contract = 18mth Flext35+WnW (-25% discount) Called T-Mobile 7 times before getting this offer. FYI when adding an additional contact for g/f, the price of the handset on Flext 20+WnW (-£5 discount) was £169.

Guest RickDawson Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 If you're not in a contract, just keep calling the upgrades department until they give you a reasonable deal. So PAYG to contract is classed as an upgrade, even if there's a new mobile involved?
Guest nickynoodles Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 So PAYG to contract is classed as an upgrade, even if there's a new mobile involved? Sorry Rick, missed the PAYG bit there. I'm sure that is just classed as taking out a new contract. It seems like the new contract deals for the Vario III are far from fixed currently, so if you go for it, don't just grab the first offer you get. There's been talk of the Vario III being free on Flext30 when it hits the TMobile site, might be worth waiting for.
Guest dolbe666 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 (edited) got mine for devicewire.co.uk, I payed £469, its unbranded HTC ?TYTN II, im using my t-mobile sim from my old contract so no new contract needed, ill save my upgrade for the next great HTC release Edited October 2, 2007 by dolbe666
Guest WILBUR Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Where- Phoned up T-Mobile business customer services. Handset - free upgrade Contract - 12m Flext 25 plus WnW Pro (plus 50% friends & family)
Guest Mr.Clark Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Here's all the information I've managed to gather: T-Mobile - Vario III (the price plans are the ones I'm considering, but more expensive plans should drop the initial cost) Flext 25 £209.99 180 minutes 12 Months Flext 20 £169.99 ??? minutes 18 Months Flext 25 £149.99 300 minutes 18 Months O2 - Stellar (information from the XDA info line) Coming "by December" - it's the successor to Trion and has the tilting screen... that's the TyTN II, I can't think of anything else it could be, but she didn't know the HTC TyTN II by name. The upgrade line had no information on the Stellar at all. Vodafone - v1615 Coming "by the end of the week" (I called week ending 5th October) - no price until it's in stock. Orange - HTC TyTN II No information at all. This was the 0800 number off their website. Hope this helps people... I still don't know what to do now. <_>
