Guest michi123 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Hello everyone! My first post here, so please be gentle ;) Just moved from a P3600 to the P4550 and noticed something strange twice in the last 4 days. When I looked at the display in the morning (phone and WLAN were off overnight.....hardly ever turn on WLAN, as I only use it when travelling) I found that WLAN had switched itself on sometime during the night. What gives? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Guest Neil5459 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 That seems to be a 'feature' that comes & goes. Do you have an email Exchange Server setup, or so you have email set to sync every xx minutes? With my WM6 P3600, which has an Exchange Server connection, if I turn the phone radio off, it often then tries to connect via WiFi at intervals, even if I've not manually turned WiFi on; and it does it without turning the screen on, which is unusual for WiFi.
Guest michi123 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Yep, I do have scheduled syncs with an exchange server......suspected something like that might be the cause, thanks.... Bigger problem now is the worsening screen alignment issue....
Guest Neil5459 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Yep, I do have scheduled syncs with an exchange server......suspected something like that might be the cause, thanks.... At least there is some consistency to it then! Bigger problem now is the worsening screen alignment issue.... Oh dear- shades of the original Hermes screen alignment problems? I'd inform the seller ASAP in case it needs replacing.
Guest michi123 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 not sure it´s the typical Hermes problem......see here: http://www.modaco.com/Screen-alignment-problem-t259944.html
Guest Neil5459 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Sure looks like a hardware fault- which country are you in, and where did you get yours from? If in Europe you certainly have a case under consumer protection laws.
