newbie - how to pronounce vario

This sounds like a newbie question but it saves being embarrased in front of tmobile...

How do you pronounce vario? is it vaaario or v-rio? if you get me?

I'm looking to haggle the new vario III from tmobile on a cheap upgrade tomorrow and would prefer it if I knew how to say it ;)

That's how I pronounce it too, however when you ring T-Mo most of them say Var (sounds like Car) io ;)
