How we all doing, ive just upgraded from the Vario 2 to the Vario 3, only £50 ;)

Anyhow the phone came today and im just looking through it now, but i have a problem before i even start.......... On my memory card is all the pics Tom Tom etc, worked fine on Vario 2, i put it into the Kaiser and nothing happens, ive tried taking it out and putting it back it, but to no avail. Its a 2gb Sandisk card.

Is the phone faulty? is it a problem i can fix?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Your best bet is to grab the sandisk USB stick thingy they send with the card, copy everything off the card, then use total commander to format it. See if that works ok, if not format it in Dos on the PC (format drive: /FS:FAT) that should make everything honkey dorey, WM is not a fan of damaged/corrupt File Alocation Tables.... in fact a quick chkdsk drive: /F on your pc might fix the issue.

Thanks for that, but im bobbins with Pc's ;).

I think the card is ermm kaput, ive put into the laptop and that doesnt pick it up, put it back in Vario 2 and now that doesnt pick it up. So from taking the card from one phone to another seems to have knackered it up, it wouldnt spring out, so coaxed it out, no obvious damage tho  Looks like i lost all the stuff, taught me a lesson to keep it on laptop as well.

Now theres a postal strike, ill have to buy another card from a shop tomorrow, really need the Tom Tom for work.

Bummer, sorry about that. Make sure that your Vario2 still works when you get a new card, you may have caused a line cross on the pinouts, and perhaps fried the card, but it may have fried/bent the pinouts on the phone as well.

Worth checking with a small/cheap card I would say....
