Synching with Windows Mail

I've been using MS Outlook for some time now with work PC, however as I'm leaving in a few weeks I want to start synching with my home PC which has Vista but no outlook.

Can I still sync all contacts and appointments with Windows Mail??

Cheers

Jim

Vista Contacts and Calendar won't sysnc to a PPC yet, though it is 'planned'

Recent WM devices don't come with MS Outlook- only a trial version of Outlook 2007, which costs about £40 to activate. Outlook 2002 is not compatible with A/S 4.5 or WMDC after clean installs, though it may work if an old version is upgraded.

So, if you have Vista and a new PPC, you are obliged to purchase extra software to synchronise data, or use one of the free Hosted Exchange services.

Heh, putting it like that, "free hosted exchange" doesn't sound like all that bad a deal ;)

Norty of MS to remove any free way of syncing though, presumably the Windows Mail client was supposed to be compatible by now, and they had already cut off the OL supply to new WM devices...

Wasnt aware MS removed Outlook from new device disks. Why would they do that?

$$$$$ ;)

They never included any version after Outlook 2002, and presumably they'd rather not include OL 2003 as they'd rather people paid for OL 2007.

Makes a mockery of advertising the Sync capabilities of Windows Mobile though, if the user is obliged to spend extra money to achieve this :(
