In search for a GPS software for touring around by foot

I am looking for a GPS software rather like "citynavigators" that could allow me to tour around in city like london, showing me what is around and what's worth a visit.

Pretty much like tom tom for tourist

I use memory map as this allows you to use an ordinance survey map of where you want to go and shows walking routes and other useful walking information. If you buy the PC version it installs a client version on your PDA.
