Guest Em Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I'm a very long-term user of WM on Pocket PC and Smartphones and with WM5 (running on a Smartflip in my case) I think we lost some useful functionality. Perhaps there's an option somewhere that someone can tell me about?! When you go into Contacts, each Contact name has the default contact 'type' showing as a short code to the right - 'm' for mobile, 'txt' for SMS, 'e' for email, 'w' for work telephone, etc. But how are these default contacts actually set and where does one change them?? As far as I can tell, the default seems to be set based on the first communication that was made to the Contact. Ie. if you enter a new contact and then text them, the default forever more will be 'txt'. Ok as a starting point I guess, but not always very useful. I remember older versions of WM used to have the option to 'set as default' one of the contact types, but this has gone with WM5. Any ideas anyone?

Not sure how they are initially set, but to change them simply highlight the contact in the list, and then right arrow on the action key (d-pad) which will cycle through the contact options ('w', 'm', 'e' etc.) until the one you want is visible.

Many thanks. That's an easy and very clever solution. Cheers. karlo
