What is Time Out on the Today settings option???

I've trawled through the manual and couldnt find an explanation of what Time Out is on the Today settings option.

Could someone please explain what this option is ;)

When set, if your device is unused for the set time, the screen returns to the Today Screen.

If not set, whichever program has screen focus will retain it-

So for instance if you use TomTom and are on a long journey, with no diect interaction with the device, if the timeout is set, the TomTom screen would change back to the Today screen after xx time, and if not set, the TomTom screen would remain in focus till you turn it off.

Thanks Neil. At last I know what this means. Had the same question lurking in my mind from when I had my SPV C600!!
