Lost all the new SMSs

Hi,

I hope I've posted this in the right section.

Sorry if this is two long, but I didn't find solutions elsewhere so I'm hoping somebody here will help me.

I have two issues regarding Nokia 3230 -

1) A few days back, I'd taken out the memory card of 3230 while the cell was switched off and then I switched the cell back on, without the memory card, because I needed to make an urgent call. The cell started fine, but later I noticed that all the new SMSs from my inbox had disappeared and instead there were some very old ones, which I'd backed up as a text file and deleted from my cell, long back. I want to know what exactly happened? Were the new messages saved on memory card or what? If they were, then why didn't I get them back after putting the memory card back in? Is there ANY way to get those messages back? Please help!

2) Does anybody know of any software that can import messages from 3230; importing messages as a text file is ok, but importing them in proper format is preferred. Eg, my boyfriend has Sony Ericsson Z550i and he found a free software, which lets him epxlore his cell, and back up ANY data, be it music, videos or even contacts and messages, onto his PC. I was wondering if there was any such siftware for 3230?

Edit - Please don't say "change the option "Save messages to memory card" etc. Because there's no such option in 3230 which allows me to choose where to save the messages. Any ideas?
