Guest stephenballantyne Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 (edited) Hi, I've just moved from a WM5 device to the Vario III. I'm a little confused why the backlight won't turn off when I have Media Player running. Seems like a waste of power if the phone is sitting in by pocket while I'm listening to music. Is there any way to make the backlight go off when Media Player is running? Thanks, Steve Edited October 11, 2007 by stephenballantyne
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Have you checked the Power Settings - in particular Battery power settings and Backlight settings. Batery power settings will allow the phone to Sleep after a certain period. Backlight setting will just dim the backlight after certain time.

I've got the Power set to turn off 'If the device is not used for' 2 mins and the Backlight to turn off 'If the device is not used for' 10 secs. These work without Media Player running, but it seems like using Media Player tells the phone that the device is being used and therefore the backlight does not turn off. Also, pressing the power button once to turn off the screen, also turns off Media Player. Cheers,
Guest sc0user_75 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Try pressing the X button on media player. I'm guessing that this will just put it into the background and the screen will then turn off???
Guest stephenballantyne Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Unfortunately not. The Today screen just sits there staring at me as well.
