Just wanted to thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum. Much reading, many late nights and a really good deal encouraged me to order my SPV.

Getting it with my eyes wide open, know there are bugs but then i got through 4 nokia 6210's and my current z7 is "quirky". these are both decent enough phones but the SPV has gadget factor too (and in spades).

Think I'll be unlocking it (the only way to take full advantage of it methinks) and i'll be doing a site with tips i've picked up, relevant links to downloads, graphics and sounds.

I program ringtones for a living and have extensive audio background so i'll be posting lots of midi files and wav's too.

I've no problem with paying for apps (though IA Album and All Explorer are basically OS patches to me) but freeware/shareware is the way to ensure the kind of longevity and usabilty of our handsets that we'd all like.

I think that a thriving community with ensure stronger support from MS and Orange too, as they will see their investment in the smartphone platform blossom from positve feedback and good word of mouth about the phone.

Hoping for updates, bugfixes and maybe more from a platform with many possibilities... though i believe you should always buy a product based on what it does when you buy it not what it might do in the future.

Finally, for those who haven't already got one, I got mine from www.mobileshop.com and it cost me £0 (free) on a OVP 02 200 package. Obviously I took the £6 GPRS package (obligitory I think anyway) and orange care at £5 a month (optional but essential)

Carphone Warehouse still wanted £129.99!!!

hoping for pocket word/excel update too but the notbad program will fill a much lost opportunity for now ;)
