Guest Subliminal Aura Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) Whilst preping before the delivery of my Kaiser I was wondering if you need a propriatory car charger for this device ? I'm hoping the the kaiser is charged exclusively or optionally via USB so that I can keep it charged whilst in the car. Cheers //EDIT Wow google is good for answering stupid questions like this. Sorry for the waste of a question I guess it does charge via USB so I'll be able to re use my old universal mount and USB charger. Edited October 15, 2007 by Subliminal Aura
Guest rmg Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I ncan confirm that it charges over USB using a standard USB car charger ;)
Guest varioIII-lover Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 can i use a motorola V3 car charger then? v3-L
Guest CorruptedSanity Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Actually, Kaiser has thier own very neat looking car charger. But yeah technically you should (and evidently from your find) you can use any USB charger. Im glad this was confirmed because I cannot find an original USB cable. I connect my Kaiser to my laptop at home and desktop at work and find it very inconvenient to lug the cable back and forth. Ill buy a USB cable today.
Guest Phil Lee Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I like my Brodit active holder which I got today.
Guest Flubster Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I'm using the car charger I got when I had a C500, same one I used for the jasjar, and now for the kaiser. its 5v (same as power lead) Flubster
Guest tsutton Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I thought the Vario III has a different mini USB port with an odd shape? I could be wrong, tho...
Guest Subliminal Aura Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 @Phil : Damn that looks nice... Thanks for sharing.

Guest Subliminal Aura Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 There's some more photos here. OMG (reaches for wallet again) ! Love it in landscape mode. So now I'll be able to code whilst driving too -errrrrr wicked. (DISCLAIMER : For all intents and purposes I hereby declare that I will not be actively using the Tytn II whilst driving.) <-- One for the evangelists on this forum.
Guest rmg Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I thought the Vario III has a different mini USB port with an odd shape? I could be wrong, tho... It does have an odd shape but a normal mini USB fits it fine. (I nearly had a heart attack when I first saw that it was an odd shape!)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 They call that extUSB, basically miniUSB with the headset socket ;) P
Guest tsutton Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Thanks. Really looking forward to get it today. ;) It's being sent by ParcelForce.
Guest cardinal__b Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I ended up getting a Motorola mini USB car charger from the O2 shop of all places. Cost me £4.99 and works fine with the Kaiser.
