Hi,

Can someone please help me with a problem I have with my new Touch?

When I had a Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone I was able to Sync with outlook on 2 PC's without problems, however now I have Windows Mobile 6, I Can't!!!

My setup is a follows:

PC 1 - Windows XP Professional with ActiveSync 4.5

PC2 - Windows Vista Enterprise with Windows Mobile Sync Center

Is this a Vista problem or a Mobile 6 problem?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Gareth

Shouldn't be a problem at all syncing with two PCs! Check in Activesync on the Touch to see which pairings you currently have. If in doubt delete all of them from the device and both PCs and try again ;)

Thanks for the reply Monolithix,

I have now tried what you suggested, but to no avail!

I used to be able to make changes either in work or at home to my calendar, contacts or tasks and the changes would replicate in the other place on next sync. By the way, my email always syncs with an exchange server anyway.

I have a screen shot below of ActiveSync:

Any more ideas why?

Am I the only one having this problem?

Living in the wonderful world of Exchange, I forget these things. I'll give it a go later... have to dust off my Windows machine too ;)

You didnt mention that you were also syncing with an exchange server...

So set up your device ad both pc's to sync with the exchange server? Simplest solution.

That actually defeats the point!

I need to be able to have a copy of my contacts, calendar and tasks on both work and home PC's while syncing email with an exchange server. If I change, add or delete a contact for example on my work PC, I need the change to be made on my home PC on next sync.

This worked exactly the same and correctly with a windows mobile 5 device, so why not with a mobile 6 one?

OK so like jimbouk says, why not just sync everything with the Exchange server?

If both pc's and your mobile device sync with the server, then all three will have everything replicated?

Sorry, but this is not what I am after!

I connect to two different exchange servers at work and home, I only want to sync mail with the home server, but everything else with BOTH PC's which in turn sync with the respactive exchange server.

Thank you jimbouk for your most helpful comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look at my first and second post you WILL SEE that I state the problem. I also state "When I had a Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone I was able to Sync with outlook on 2 PC's without problems". I also say "By the way, my email always syncs with an exchange server anyway."

In fact, the second exchange server doesn't even come into it. I shall explain again:

PC at Work

Contacts, Tasks and Calendar entered and edited and need to be sync's from Outlook to Pocket PC

PC connects to Exchange Server 1

PC at Home

Contacts, Tasks and Calendar entered and edited and need to be sync's from Outlook to Pocket PC

PC connects to Exchange Server 2

Pocket PC

Syncs Email from Exchange with Server 2

NOTE: All syncing is done for everything except email with OUTLOOK

Can anyone help with this problem?

Actually you didnt mention the second Exchange Server until two posts ago...

If you had mentioned that at any earlier point, I would have pointed out that the second exchange server is what blocks you from doing what you want to do...

But hey it really was a pleasure. I post on Modaco instead of taking heroin so I dont mind wasting all the time on this pointless thread...maybe you have saved my life...

Thanks again for that.

How could I therefore do it previously with Mobile 5 in exactly the same senario?

The second exchange server has nothing to do with the Pocket PC as the data is sync'd with Outlook - the whole data is just held in exchange. I am NOT syncing with two exchange servers, so is this still the problem.

I do thank you for your help, and am glad I have saved you from heroin.

Play nice kids...

As for your problem Gareth, I've not had your particular situation but I can't see why it would not work in WM6. Possibly a bug in the new version...

Yes, I suspect it's a bug related to having Exchange in the mix. As I say, i'll have a play at doing this when I get a chance.

Now where did I put those Windows machines... ;)
