Guest Harmonygirl Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Hello, My first and current Pocket PC phone (Siemens SX66) is dying a horrible death, and I don't have much time to select its successor! These are my requirements / wish list: * Pocket PC platform is a must, am flexible on operating system version. * I use the phone primarily for calls, email and internet browsing, so large screen is a must (I currently use a 3.5") * I use an onscreen keyboard for most of my inputs with a stylus. * I am on the AT&T / Cingular network, so GSM is a must and would prefer quad-band for flexibility. * High-speed internet is a must. * Camera is also a must but am flexible on MPs, resolution, etc. * GPS is a nice-to-have. What phone(s) should I consider? What vendor(s) should I consider? Thanks in advance for your time.
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Your only option for a screen that large is to either pick up and old (yet still powerful) Jasjar/M5000/MDA Pro/Exec. It'll fit your spec and has a built in keyboard should you want it. If you want something a bit newer and don't mind using a BT headset for all of your calls you could consider a HTC Advantage: http://www.europe.htc.com/en/products/htcadvantage.html
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Be aware that the advantage is HUGE tho... P
Guest Kchrpm Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Aside from the Advantage, you'd be waiting for the HTC P6550/6500 (GPS/No GPS), aka the the Sedna/Sirius. There's also the i-mate Ultimate 7150 but that's rumored to have been cancelled.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Wish they'd do something with the 'Omni' (Universal successor) concept! P
