Am I right in thinking that ActiveSync 4.5 is the version I should be using with a WM6 device<->winxp and that windows mobile device centre is for Vista only ?

I used windows mobile device centre with vista a few months back and it was pretty but that was as far as my fondness went.

Cheers

Yes... WMDC is for Vista only and AS 4.5 is for XP

(WMDC is quite a big step forward in terms of usability I find)

Thanks Jim,

I have got a dual boot vista/winxp machine but my vista install needs major tuning which I just do not have the time for.

If only linux had decent PIM and synchronization options between Windows Mobile devices I would decommission that machine from my network ;)

Theres a project called SynCE that works under all the different *nix platforms iv'e tried. Once you have it set up and working, you then add on the various bits you need to interface it to your chosen window manager.

If your using Ubuntu use the adept package manager and type synce into the filter box at the top, and i'll list all the packages you need. Select the ones you need to install, then commit to the install and Ubuntu will download, install and set everything up for you automaticly.

Iv'e tested it with a C600 and the new Kaiser, both work fine.
