Guest amo Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 I'm using my MDA Vario 3 as a wired modem for my laptop and it appears that T-mobile are using some sort of image caching to compress files before they're served. I was just wondering if there's a way around this, as ive got HSDPA coverage where I use my phone and am not worried about transfer speed. It makes pages look terrible as the compression is often so high! Also, I can't seem to connect to MSN/Live Messenger (or whatever it's called nowadays), always comes up with a problem with the connection error. Im guessing the ports been blocked so again just looking for a workaround. Does anyone know of any?
Guest jimbouk Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 Just out of interest are you signed up for the pro wnw tariff that permits tethering?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 To get around the compression, use a proxy perhaps? With regards to messenger, should work fine if you have a relevant WnW service to support it? P
Guest amo Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 I'm just using the standard WnW service, seems to work fine allowing me to use my phone as a modem, as was the case when I used my N73 as a modem for months with the same package... It's relatively light useage so Im guessing that's why tmobile don't mind and haven't blocked it?
