Guest CorruptedSanity Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 I fumbled somewhere on the phone and found Sprite backup. I then backed up the phone to the storage card! Great! I realized I do not need a pc to be able to back up to a phone. But now I cant find the program! I checked under programs list and settings. Any how, I later clicked on the Clear Storage and inputed 1234 and completely restored the phone (by mistake, I was expecting a warning or confirmation pop-up before the phone actually restarted and cleared everything). Luckily I had just made a backup to the storage card and was able to restore the phone to 10 minutes ago! Awesome!! So now, two questions. 1- Where is the Sprite Backup program? I found it in programs folder while using the file explorer but not when going to start > programs. Why doesnt it show up under start > programs ALso, if I am able to backup to the storage card, why do I need the Sprite installed on my PC? As a backup or ease of use? 2- I have duplicate icons in start > programs Which are: - Bluetooth explorer (1) - Calculator (1) - Google Maps (1) Why are there duplicates? And how to get rid of them?
Guest mandt Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 (edited) Open file Explorer, browse to the Sprite backup.exe, tap n hold>Copy browse to Start Menu, tap n hold>Paste Shortcut Duplicate shortcuts can simply be deleted First time I've heard of Hard-resetting by mistake ;) Edited October 22, 2007 by mandt
Guest CorruptedSanity Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Also, the icons in the programs menu dont seem like shortcuts because they lack the little arrow signalling shortcut. Any how, how to delete? There is no option to delete and Fn + Del (<-) doesnt delete it.
Guest mandt Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 You don't get the shortcut overlay in WM, but they are shortcuts, if you look at the files you will see they have a .lnk extention Fn + Del works for me or you can hold your stylus on the file until you see a menu pop up, and select 'delete'
Guest Jim_R Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 On the TILT, it's in Start, Programs, Tools Folder, Sprite Backup. Hope you remember the password you assigned to your backup!
Guest CorruptedSanity Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Does each backup require a password input (can be different from the other?). I was not able to delete by going to start > programs because holding down with the stylus brings no menu nor does fn +del work. I used explorer to browse around in Windows folder until I found the program folder (not menu) and then manually deleted the duplicates.
Guest mandt Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 I used explorer to browse around in Windows folder until I found the program folder (not menu) and then manually deleted the duplicates. Yeah that's what I was driving at ;) Haven't used Sprite backup
