Need Help Understanding SIM Installation

I currently have a SIM installed that is unique to the country I'm in, Costa Rica. When I originally installed it, with "Enable auto configuation" and "Automatic change time zone and clock" on I experienced some serious problems with my task and appointment times. By turning off the time zone and clock setting I was able to get things to work properly. Needless to say, it scared me just a little that the SIM card could impact my data.

In a short time I'm going back to the States for a visit. I have a T-Mobile SIM that I will be using there. I'd like to install it while I'm still in Costa Rica in case I run into any snags. So...here are my questions:

1. Will the phone settings that I currently have set, auto config on and auto time off stick? Or will I have to check these settings after I install the T-Mobile SIM?

2. Can I install the T-Mobile SIM in Costa Rica, understanding that it will not find service, and have it do the auto config so that it'll be functional once I get into T-Mobile coverage in the States?

3. Once I install the T-mobile SIM and then remove it to reinstall the Costa Rica SIM, am I going to be confronted with any issues? Or will the TyTN II recognize the previously installed SIMs each time they are put in?

Thanks in advance.

you sure did over complicate that quaestion ;)

basically just stick the sim in the phone, and let it configure itself. you may have to use the network wizard to change the country and network if it doesnt recognise it, but it should recognise the sim change each and everytime you change sims. i use three fdifferent networks and swapping sims is the easiest ive ever had with a mobile. my kaiser is ready to cinnect to the net as soon as its put in and turned on
