Internet on Activesync

Hi,

it's my first post so forgive me for any mistakes.

Just bought my P4550 yesterday and I'm trying t figure it out.

First problem that occured is that lack of internet while P4550 was connected to PC via Activesync.

No internet explorer, no quick gps update, no weather update etc.

Is there any setup to change it?

Before I had HP HW6910 and it worked fine on active sync.

I couldn't find this issue on forum.

Please let me know

Thanks

Pit

1) Have you got AS 4.5?

2) Have you enabled internet access on Activesync?

3) Is your firewall blocking it?

Thanks for replay

1. Yes 4.5

2. Where is this option? on HTC or PC?

3. I have standard Windows XP firewall and there is no info that activesync is attempting to connect to internet

Thanks

Pit

Did you have a version of ActivSync v4.1, or earlier, with the HP HW6910 and did you update it to v4.5 for the HTC Kaiser?

ActivSync v4.1 gave me Internet access for my old PDA, but v4.5 didn't give me the Internet via my home PC with my old PDa nor with my new TyTN II. However v4.5 worked fine with my new HTC at work. It seems there is a problem with ActivSync 4.2+ on some PCs. A registry change described here solved my problem and gave me Internet access:
