Guest leoiden Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 no its not wm6 upgrade just another wm5 update but i could have swarn i once installed a leaked wm6 orange but don,t remember where i got it from??
Guest aj76 Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) I have applied the update about 5 days ago and have noticed that that battery life is improved, I was charging everyday since I applied the march update, and after iinstalling some apps they are more responsive than they were previously. Wouldn't run under vista for some reason just hung on the boot loader screen so has to hook it up to the kids xp machine to run the update then no problems at all. I was a bit weary after reading claims on some forums that the update bricked their SPV's but then that's what orange cares there for! One thing I have found that is a little odd is that when looking at the device information the ROM date is 05/21/07 so it's 5 months old? Edited October 29, 2007 by aj76
Guest VF-17 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 I poped this on my SPV last night and it works well I think my phone boots up slightly faster and there seems to have been a couple of minor changes but most of it Im sure is all behind the scenes stuff. The main wah whoo is the splash screen has been changed to a green one. One thing to mention if you use it back up all your data first it formats the whole rom area and therefore kills all you installed stuff etc. If like me you use SBP backup software and just use the backup to restore the phone affter you`ll be left with the half old half new bastard child Windows Mobile 5 and everything will work except the phone funtionality. The most you`ll get is your docs and the emails/texts the rest is junk. Simply follow the reflash again and it`ll fix it. For a few seconds after it installs you get the full flavor unmolested by Orange then the Orange cab settings files boot up and your world is controlled by Orange again. Once I re sync`d it to Outlook and put my data back it was business as usual. Next I`ll flash it to WM6.
