Guest rumos Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Hi, anyone know what program can use for viewing avi movie files? tcpmp will leave a blank bar on homescreen after use. Any other program? Thanks. ;) tcpmp is working fine with wm6, no bugs. u may also try core player, which is basically an updated tcpmp.
Guest Atlis Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Original Divx player works fine, tcpmp as well...
Guest JC van den Ber Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Original Divx player works fine, tcpmp as well... I installed tcpmp, bacuse divx 0.89 wouldnt play my avi files but I have found that tcpmp is jerky. I know I have to play around with the buffer size, but cant seem to figure it out. Any help? I have an i600 upgraded to WM 6. Any help would be appreciated. BTW: All the files are on my Ridata 1gb card.
Guest bluntvillan Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 (edited) you could try pocket vlc but i would recommend divx - which i have been able to play avi files. maybe the avi requires additional codecs? but in the end it doesn't matter what program you use - if the video has a high fps, no smartphone software can render it quick enough using the limited CPU power. if you desperately need to watch videos on the phone and majority of the videos don't play smoothely/properly then your last bet is to convert them. Also I conducted a minor speed test to see how fast the phone can read/write off the memory card and to be perfectly honest it is very slow - even on a USB 2.0 connection which made no difference at all. Edit: I sometimes use a program called IMToo to convert movies to 3gp or lower quality avi/mpg but if you don't have at least 9.6GHz processor and 2GB RAM, you'll be waiting an hour or two Edited December 6, 2007 by bluntvillan
