Guest kingpin83 Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Hi Is it possible to setup a PDA to automatically install chosen apps such as TomTom straight after a hard reset? e.g. is there a location on the device where you can place the installation files so that they are automatically installed? Thanks Andy ;)
Guest jimbouk Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 It depends on the device and the rom. Most networks put a customisation program that tells the device to run certain cab files, either in the windows directory or in extended rom.
Guest Phil Lee Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 If you create a folder called 2577 on a memory card then put cab files in it, the cabs are automatically installed when the card is inserted into the device.

Oh right, well the PDA in question is an XDA Argon running WM5.0 Would you know what type of file this customisation program is and how i could get to it to edit it etc? Or is it not that easy. I've watched my SPV M500 after a hard reset and it seems to install a set number of items but i cant work out where its looking to know what to install. I'll have to try this as soon as i get my hands on the PDA. At present i've only got an old SPV M500 to mess around with. If that works that could be very good.
