Guest sama1 Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 HI Guys, I charged my phone yesterday evening as always (with the phone off) and this morning when I turned it on, it doesn't boot up, I'm just able to see the windows mobile page and then it restarts itself several times, I removed the battery just in case and haven't done anything, any ideas? The phone has most of the stuff that it's on this forum, tornado, de-branded, 4gb memory card, not any major hacks just the easy ones. ;) Alejandro

Once you see the homescreen and things settle put it back in and then it should be OK. Mine does that on every boot.

Mine does that on every boot. NICE ONE ANDY! ;) So far (touch wood) my phone has booted up ok everytime I took the memory card out first! Slightly annoying but its only once a day I suppose. What size memory card do you have btw? I am getting a new one soon so maybe it will solve the problem...or maybe it needs formatting?
Guest buddhaman Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Yeah, this is a fairly perplexing thing when it happens. It goes through the Orange and Windows startup logos, then restarts, continously. Removing the battery sometimes helps. Its a phone, for me anyway, that you dont really ever want to switch off or allow the battery to die. Its almost like you have to trick the phone into starting properly again. Surprising that the device can be released with these shortcomings, unless of course, its something picked up from a past installation. Though I seem to recall this happening even after a recent hard reset. ;)
Guest sama1 Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Thanks a lot guys, Andy I treid doing the memory card removal and it didn't work, so I had to do the cold start boot up and remove everything ;)
Guest wizgnome Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 My phone will not reboot unless I remove the micro sd card. Unless I do the following..... Ensure no start up programs are installed on the SD card. Select a home screen (windows simple) which does not access any plugin's on the sd card, including the mru list and any images. Run SK tools lite to remove duplicates from the notification list. Then I can re boot without any problem. - but if the phone crashes I have to remove the sd card, re-boot, change the home screen, run sk tools, insert the sd card, re-boot, change back the home screen. A pain but it works every time (at least for the past month) for me.
