Editting homescreen

hey,

which programs do you guys use when editting homescreens?

i have tried for a few mins the gadget from a program called facade, worked great

but there were too much options ;)

now i wanted to replace the screen i've made by a default screen(wireless.home.xml)

now i can change the them with out problems, but when i switched to landscap

it uses the same picture as in normal view, i know i must change a name in this statement:

<background bgimage="\windows\WindowsMobile.jpg" bgimage-rotated="\windows\WindowsMobileLS.jpg" valign="bottom" bgcolor="COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT"/>

i´ve tried doing that in windows and eventually, i get an error when copying, saying something like can copy, file is in use or not enough space, a normal windows error(i got an dutch error, so the exact one in english i can't give)

i've also tried to copy an file to my documents en using explorer to replace the old one, but also with no result.

so how can i make this file editable again?

You might not be able to write to the homescreen XML file because it's protected

Give the homescreen a new name, and save it as a new file to get around that issue

I've yet to make a homescreen for my Vox, so can't advise on making a Portrait/Landscape background

Why not go to the Facade forum and download an example that does that (Prosper makes many I think) and see how he's done it

well the problem wasn't figuring out what to change, that was obvious to me like in my quote

the only problem was to write a new .xml version from pc to phone bu usb-cable, eventually it dodn.t work at al

then i heard from a friend about total commander, where you can do about anything.

i used it once for this issue, and it worked like a charm.

thanks for the help, and if anyone knows a solution to get it work(to copy without total commander), they are still welcome to answer
