Guest sc0user_75 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Guys, I asked previously about this problem and though I got it resolved - but I havent. I have a .Mac email account. I've got it set up on my VIII, with the setting set to KEEP ON SERVER. But when I delete emails on the phone they still disappear on my email account on the computer. Anyone able to help please?
Guest jimbouk Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Keep on server means that they are kept on the server if you download them to a client (such as your email client on your pc or your device). If you then delete the email on your device/pc, and then sync, that tells the server you no longer want that email. Just keep them on your device... and if you have too many, then just set your device to only download 3 days worth or one of the other options.
Guest sc0user_75 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Erm, but I'm sure that a few days ago even when I deleted emails from my phone and then went to my computer later in the day... or even the next day, the emails that I deleted on the phone were still on the computer!
Guest dolbe666 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Are you selecting send/recieve after deleteing form the varioIII? if not it wont send information to the server that the emails have been deleted. therefore when you look on your pc they will apear to be not deleted

I'm assuming this would be the same as hitting the send/receive button?
Guest jimbouk Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Yes... and I am guessing you haven't sent or send/recevied since deleting the items on your device that were still on the server. As I said, dont delete them unless you really want to remove them from everywhere. If you dont want loads on your device then set it to only donwload last three days.
Guest sc0user_75 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 ... I have used send/receive though on many occasions! But I think I'll take up your suggestion dude and just limit the number of days worth of email downloads.
