another SPV C550 help request

Hi,

bought a used C550 off Ebay and I have been through the app and sim unlocking procedures at least 15 times. The app unlock appears to work OK, ending in a smiley. The first times I ran SPVServices.exe a 'dos' type window opened but never connected. Now even that does not happen and all I get is 'SPVServices is not a valid Windows CE application'.

Is it the version of CE operating sys or what is it?

Having read the Modaco PDF on this topic I tried again, edit the reg successfully. Then I ran Cert.cab. Unlike previous attempts I got 'failed. cannot be run because it is not digitally signed' - a step backwards. But, when I ran SPVservices, it at least tried to connect to 216.127.78.111. the message: 'Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable'

What am I doing wrong?
