Is there a single button to silence the sound (from SMS or others)

I've got a wav recording of my baby laughing as my SMS incoming message sound which is around 10seconds long.

In my old sony ericsson phone (ordinary phones), whenever I receive a message, I just press any button and it stops the sound. I love the longer sound but on certain occassions, like in my office, I would like to turn off the sound using a single button.

With the Kaiser, I tried to press all buttons but it can't be silenced right away. It has to play the recording until the end. My option is to go to the HTC home plugin / audio, then set it to silent mode, which may take a little longer, or I just try to cover the speaker with my hand. ;)

Would you know of any shortcuts to stopping the sound?

I don't know if it would work for sms tones, but I just found out last week that when my phone is ringing, if i scroll the wheel it silences the tone. I take it by you saying that you have tried every button so this information is probably no use to you sorryb ;)

Yes that's a lesser known but awesome little feature. it worked the same for my Wizard too, you just flicked the little volume toggle slider up. Once is silence, twice is divert to voicemail. Very handy if you want to silence the tone but act like you're not there.. :(
