Phone details: T-Mobile SDA with EA's WM6 ROM

I have been trying to find a weather plugin that will work with my home screen. I came across Fizzweather that seemed to be the ticket. And at first install, it seems perfect. Nice graphics, great UI, and good options. But then I noticed that when the program is downloading data, it locks up the phone. The first time I had installed the program to my SD card, and I couldn't even reboot the phone. It would always stay stuck in the second splash screen. Ok.. Reflash the phone. Next time I installed it to main memory. Same locking up. But this time I was able to reboot, and then uninstall. Does anyone have any experience running this on Tornadoes with WM6? Why is it locking up?

And then, does anyone have any suggestions for good and stable plugins for weather?

Thanks!!!

Hi Bipin, I've always used Fizz Traveler from day one when it was called MC Traveler on my old E100

I have it running on my Lobster 700TV, previously I had it running on my C550 and my C500. I like it so much I have the PPC version running on my Dell X51v running Windows Mobile 6

All I can say is make sure you have the latest version running and try to update via usb first. Its never failed me and I have used both storage card and main memory without problems.

Hi, I tried using both Fizzweather and Handy Weather, and of the two i'd definately say Handy Weather is the better of the two. Can't say i've had any problems with it whatsoever so far, although I don't use the home screen plug in admittedly. There are a few sites (sorry can't remember any names of the top of my head) that have free trials for Handy Weather, maybe this would be your best bet? It's a 2 week full trial I think so you should get a good idea of whether this programme is for you. Hope this helps

Just curious but why do you guys want a weather forecast on your home screen?

Hope you don't mind me asking ;)

Well, I don't actually use mine as a home screen plug-in (it's already too cluttered up with other stuff lol), but I like to have quick and easy access to an up to date weather forecast. Plus, as I travel quite a bit it's handy being able to view forecasts for several different cities/countries within seconds of each other. I know all this info is on the net but it's just alot easier and quicker having a programme that can do it for you instantly with no effort. I can see why it wouldn't be to everyones taste but I love having Handy Weather on my phone, use it every single day :(

What I like about Fizz compared to all other weather packages is you can punch in the name of virtually any village and it will find it and give you weather for that location.

I live in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham but I am a good few miles from Birmingham, closest town is Coventry but thats also some way off but using Fizz I can type in Castle Bromwich then lookup and hey presto.

I have to make occasional visits to Bury in Manchester which using other packages you have to settle for Manchester but this is miles away.

Thats what I like no matter where I am Fizz will find the village (or next nearest large village) and the weather is different so its not just classifying you under Birmingham or Manchester etc.
