Guest Disco Troll Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Hi - Newbie question here so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place or asking the dumbest of questions... I've just been forced onto an Orange E650 by my office and I want to be getting the sat-nav up and running. I have paired-up the phone with bluetooth gps receiver (used to work fine with my PDA) but if I try using it with Google maps on the E650 the screen says it cant find any satellites. Question is, is this down to Google maps or are there issues regarding gps receivers and the E650 talking to each other? All answers gratefully received. Disco Troll.
Guest spacerace Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 I had the same thing with my Saumsung i600. There is an issue with Google Maps seeing a BT GPS device on a WM Smartphone (as opposed to PPC), but there is a tweak you can do to get it to work. See Post 5 in this thread for details: http://www.modaco.com/content/HTC-Vox-Vox-...M6-GPS-program/
Guest Disco Troll Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Thanks Spacerace - Tried everything in the post regarding the GPS set-up but it seemed to make no difference (though my experience with working with a Smartphone is limited). I am assuming that when it says to 'reset the device' this is simply switching off/removing the battery and not a full manufacturers reset that wipes everything... ;)
