Guest cryotek Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 (edited) Hi im fairly new at mobile smartphones. I have a Cingular 2125 phone. upgraded from a MpX220 (loved the phone but Volume was just unbareably low) Anyway I like this phone for the most part and I'm trying to learn how to do more with it. My buddy has an I930 that he does a lot with. (wanna keep up with the times) Anyway, I been trolling the web for 3 days and staying up way to late trying to get this thing to run some stuff. turns out that I need to Decert the phone(Application Unlock it) I have tried everything from this site that I have found plus on the web.( Everything pretty much directs me back to this great site anyway). I have ran the Unlock Programs and it say that is it unlocked. changed the values of hkey_local_machine/security/policies/policies 00001001 from 2 to 1 and 00001005 from 16 to 40 even seen another site that had me change 00001017 from (can't remember) to 144. I did that Ran the cert.cab thing and the spv service thing. all sees hunky-dory. ( didn't try another sim card yet as I don't have 1 on me gotta meet up with a friend with t-mobile or something) But the program stated ooooooooooooo Unlocked. so I'm pretty sure I did it correctly. Now, the problem is I'm trying to get some Game emulators on here but, to no avail. I keep getting the msg alert access denied. the program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. Which from everything I have stumbled on means it's still application locked. Please help a Newbie out. Not to sound harsh but, please be specific as I am new to this stuff not used to abbrv. or pc slang. Thanks in advanced. Edited November 6, 2007 by cryotek

Guest cryotek Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Try this. Run the SDA Security Unlocker on your PC while your phone is docked/ connected: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=attach...st&id=19252 Thanks I just broke my 2125 looking for a LCD screen on Ebay with out paying an arm an a leg. seems most people are trying to rip us off. Seen them range from 30- 90 bucks. a bit steep in my mind esspecially for such an old phone. at any rate I'm currently using my old MPX220. Not sure wich firmware I got, how do I tell. Also, would be cool to unlock this phone to run new programs and to get the damn Volume a bit better.(Only thing I hate about this phone). Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated as well. On a side note wonder if you fine folkes could help me out with something I just stumbled on in some pc magazines. I'm trying to get hip in the world of technology. WiFI. I know what it is kinda just curious as to how I can use it. I currently have a wireless network set up in my apartment. That I set up and built my own PC.(Gotta start somewhere I suppose) Seems to work great, so I guess I did something right. I was just curious about this Wi FI deal. From what I understand I'm a wifi host so to speak. so if I get a device with Wifi can I connect to my Wireless network and not pay for internet on that device? (Ie Palm Pilot, Pocket PC, PSP, or cell Phone with WiFI) Cingular has rediculous rates for Internet I just got a serious bill I tried out the $10 Package of 5mb DL just didn't quite cover my usage. seems that Helio and Nextel have the most reasonable price when it comes to mobile internet. at any rate, so if I have a wifi enable device using the internet on it from my network or from free hotspots wouldn't cost me anything. Am I correct in this. Granted while at home I would use my PC but, I like to sit outside with my daughter or BBQing, or in the one room of my house I'm KING ;) would be great to use the internet on my phone/device. Again thanks alot for all your help. FYI, on my background incase you woundered(Probably not). But, I'm a Plumber, Heating, Air Condition technician. I have a a lot of electronic background as I have a bachlors in electronics. I did T.V/VCR repairs for a little while, then went to work for Xerox fixing Copiers for 9 years where I got a breif introduction to networking and computer repairs. and I mean Brief but, that has what got me this far in my quest for knowledge. I got out of that field due to lack of money in it. I am currently in persuit of getting my NYS Plumbing License. A WHOLE LOT MORE MONEY IN IT! But, yet I love computers and everything that is Technology. I'm know as the gadget man at work cuz I always have new phones and devices to mess with and a pretty powerful desktop PC.(Plans to build a new rig AM2 Proscessor, Dual 8800's in SLI asus mobo, X-Fi Sound card, Raid 0 and Water cooling.)
