Guest petec500 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 I think i know the answer to this one, but before i go splash out, i thought i'd ask on here anyway. I had TomTom mobile running perfectly on my Qtek8310 (HTC Tornado??) before and thought i'd try installing it on my lovely new Touch. Got the program to run ok and sync with my BT GPS receiver to give my current location ok, but i cant access any of the menus or functions as i dont have any keypad. I was sort of hoping the touch-panel would be able to select the different icons, or maybe navigate around them with the four-way cursor control, but no - i cant do anything other than select the default icon in each page. I think i'm probably running the wrong version of TomTom for this device - i'm guessing i need Navigator 6 or something like that. Comments/confirmations please anyone??
Guest Neil5459 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 You are correct! The 2 versions are not compatible. However, as TomTom use a model of licensing the maps, rather than the actual operating software, and the maps are the same across all platforms, it may be possible for you to obtain TTN5 for PPC from somewhere, then use your existing maps. Be aware that you will need to activate any maps for the new device. As long as you have the original product code, and you have only installed it on one previous device, you can do this via www.ttcode.com. During the installation process, you will be prompted to activate, which you can elect to do manually using TTCode.
Guest petec500 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 Thanks Neil. I'll give that a go.
