Comes in white, unfortnately the black one is a tenner more expensive!

4GB Soldstate HD

512MB mem

800/900MHz CPU (exact spec seems to differ from site to site)

7" 800x480 screen

Wifi/SDHC/3xUSB

Full Keyboard

XP compatible

As a tiny device i can chuck in my bag for uni/visiting the gf/home (i'm a student ;)), this seems ideal. Oh yeah, its only £200!

Thoughts?

White is better anyway!

So is it 200 quid in the UK, or a $400 import?

Yep. Touch over 200 (PC World Business have it for £208), Expansys will do a discount for 5+ though apparently ;)

TBH I *really* would like a Shift, but even if i had £800 i wouldn't get one due to the alternatives in that price band. This isn't much worse in spec than all the 200-300 quid lappies but it more than makes up for it in size!

Maybe I'm the only one but I don't see the appeal. For about the same price you can get a much more powerful laptop, but more hd space, ram with a dvd drive (or even a burner). Oh year and a 15.4" screen. I'd rather carry 6 pounds for the better specs than carry 3 and have the tiny screen. And it doesn't even include windows (I haven't read any reviews of its bundled os).

Nope no Windows bundled, but the linux distro it runs is fine and in my case i have a copy of XP anyway...

As for the specs, thats the point, you pay for the size which is the absolute real appeal for me. I wouldn't want a laptop larger than 14" anyway ;) This is a cheap and easy way of getting a tiny laptop for uni :(

Anyone interested in a group buy? Let me start it off ;)

The more peeps, the better the price!

It can even run Windows XP ;)

Over on notebook review theyve got som pretty good vids of it in action.....Defo wanting one of these now. :D

Could be interested, although shipping to Ireland might rule me out?

What sort of discount are we talking about 2 quid or 20 quid?

I've heard back and it seems discounts are unlikely due to the tiny margins. An individual buy from the BT Shop seems the best deal atm (stock expected in 1-2 days!)

I've always wanted to look into Linux a bit more but never wanted to install on my main desktop or laptop. Perfect oppertunity now!

Prepare for plenty of Q's if there's a dedicated Eee section ;)

I orderd the white one earlier today from ebuyer...should get it tommorow.

i thought the black looked kinda cheap looking.

Cool, BT aren't showing as stock immediately, but they work out about 15 quid cheaper taking into account delivery and quidco...

Yeah i looked at the bt site after you posted....was tempted as they seem pretty cheap..but never order from them before so decided to go with ebuyer.

overclockers are also expecting stock tomorrow.

Just thought id mention if anyone else wants one as early as tomorrow.....you can order with ebuyer upto 8pm tonight and still get delivery tomorrow providing you choose the next day option.

So I figure I'll use the WiFi adhoc enabling hack for the Kaiser to connect to the device and surf the web, since there's no BT.

J273 - E90 soon? Don't do it, I have one here and don't like it one bit :(

PS Love your avatar ;)

You ordered the right one ;)

The E90 is big. The ONLY thing I like, is the screen res, nothing else really!
