External power supply for Shuttle X pc

Thought I would upgrade my shuttle x Graphics to a nice shiny ATI512MB HD2600 PRO AGP so I could have DirectX10. It turns out that the AGP version of this card does not support HD despite what I had previously read ;)

The main problem I now have is that it also turns out that my power supply is not powerful enough for this card. I actually need a 400w supply according to the box so I was thinking of maybe fitting an external supply similer the the new versions of the Shuttle.

Unfortunately I've not been able to find one I can convert to my needs.

So... Any ideas?

I got this card to prolong the pc before the need to upgrade really hit home.

Cheers but link does not work ;)

I'll have an ebay search

EDIT no luck searching :( I know the later shuttles have external supplies so I was hoping there was some way to convert the case I have.

Thanks, now to find out about converting the shuttle to take the supply.

BTW vista upgrade onto XP has just screwed my shuttle and now it will not go past the storage device check on the initial boot. And the best bit is my usb floppy is in storage atm.

Yep, now doing a format and starting from scratch (I hope)

well with the cost of a new power supply I'm left thinking should I just sell the new card I bought and upgrade the whole system? the shuttle only comes with a 280w supply from memory. Now I'm going to find out the actual power consumption of this new card and see what I can do.

Bout £60 from memory

Still can't get this thing past the ide listing part of the boot :/

everything has been reset (the format of the main drive was to keep things tidy and remove a few years of junk and drivers etc)

I strongly suspect something's not plugged in properly inside, CD drive? Hard disk?

Ahh found the issue, it did not like the usb stick being plugged in.

The problem I have with a complete upgrade is what to get and how much will it cost?

Obviously Directx 10 and hdmi support is a must.

Gaming and HDMI support with Vista.

Well got the car installed and it flatly refuses to use the drives, plus it's decided it doe not like the network adapter now :/

On installing the graphics drivers it decides that the Handle is invalid?

At this rate I'll be going back to XP with wasted expense on the graphics card.
