Guest anders_g Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Hi guys Are some of you having bugs after the update. On my SPV the profile thing doesn't seem to work right. If you select a sound level of high or 4 it doesn't seem to save it. If you press done and go to the menu again the value of the ringtone is off and it should be eg. 4??? And when I recieve a sms the counter doesn't count it still says 0 sms. Any of you having the same problems?? /Anders
Guest madu Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 try using different homescreens for sms counter?!
Guest DJHope Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 orange update/orange backup are now defunct on uk phones! The backup wil probably sort it out but that means lowing hardware version. DJ Hope
Guest anders_g Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 it's the default homescreen so it should work? /Anders
Guest Lojt Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 If you select a sound level of high or 4 it doesn't seem to save it. I have that too, but i can only put it on level 1, and it doesn't play any sound when the phone rings

Guest coastersteve Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 It saves as loud on my phone too ;) Only problem I have now is I have 2 of all the message folders! HELP! Steve
Guest Neiko69 Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Everything works fine on my phone too. This is more towards how the phone should have been in the first place!! Fast menus, fast scrolling etc.. If your gonna do though, write down all your network settings , 'cause they all get turned to duchey ones! Reset them all though, and it's like having a new phone, fantastic!!!!!!!! ;)
Guest phaedrus Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Please, please, please can somebody post a comprehensive list of the UK internet/wap/mms/gprs settings including ip addresses, port numbers, telephone numbers etc. to replace the Danish ones provided by the upgrade? Many thanks in advance.
Guest tbrose Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Hey everybody! Just read on the Danish SPV-site (orange.dk/spv) that the new DK update contains two bugs (at least). They are the following: 1) You shouldn’t update your predefined profiles. If you choose to do so anyway, you might see your SPV going into silent-mode and then you can’t hear when the phone rings. 2) When you activate your key lock and then receive an SMS, your SPV could be locked, and you have to restart the phone. After calling them, I was told that they were working to solve the problems, and that a new update should be up soon (just like they said in December when we were waiting for the Danish update!!)… That means, that you shouldn’t activate key lock, and you shouldn’t change the settings in profiles. This is my first post, so please be nice ;) hehe
Guest Shuflie Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Only if you promise not to post the exactly same thing again in a different thread. ;)
Guest Slohr Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 On my SPV the profile thing doesn't seem to work right. If you select a sound level of high or 4 it doesn't seem to save it. If you press done and go to the menu again the value of the ringtone is off and it should be eg. 4??? I had the same problem, but setting the language back to english, instead of danish, fixed this one for me. ;) I was so used to english menus by now, that I couldn't find my way around the danish anyway... (I think they look to much like a babelfish translation to really make sense)
Guest coastersteve Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 2) When you activate your key lock and then receive an SMS, your SPV could be locked, and you have to restart the phone. This is starting to cause me real problems  If the txt arrives I have to remove the battery to get the phone to function - after the reboot the txt has gone  any idea how to get them back?
Guest pupton Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Ignore this post.... Berk alert!!!
Guest DJHope Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Yeh ive started using "Device Lock" instead (settings->secutiry->lock device or power button->device lock), as sugested by awarner. Use a simple password and it only takes 2 button presses to lock(power button->deivce lock) and 3 to unlock(unlock->password(one letter)->ok). It does the same turning off of the backlight if anything else is pressed (except unlock of course). But WONT hang up when a text comes through! One problem using this system is 112/999 dont work when your locked in this mode! DJ Hope
Guest Shuflie Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 If you use a single letter password that would only require two key presses to unlock, the letter and unlock, unless you really need to have the screen light on to hit the keys that is. Incidently 999/112/08/whatever other emergency numbers microsoft have set up will work while the device is locked. Look at the screen after you type in the emergency number, you are give the option to press talk or continue typing the password.

Getting really fed up with this smartphone. The worse thing, after the update, is that I'm losing all my sms each time the SPV turns off. or each time I have to turn it off because it gets stiff, numb and idiot. If someone could help us... it's really a shame. I'm really disgusted with it all

If you still have a problem, hopefully somebody on here may be able to help you out. Good luck ;)

Go to Inbox: options: receiving: and change to first 500 bytes. Thanks Newbie and Xanadu... but changing the settings to 500 bytes didn't fix it, and I'm in Switzerland and used the Swiss update! Orange said they were going to send me a mail to explain what I have to do, but I'm still waiting  I'm not really surprised... good luck to you too
