Guest Kchrpm Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Looky what I found lying around ;) Tossed in a couple of freshly charged AAs and it's happy as a clam! Compaq C140! The default date in the calendar was January of 1996 :( Nearly perfect form factor (maybe make it a convertible instead of straight clamshell), give it up-to-date internals and I'd buy two in a heartbeat.

Guest Paul (MVP) Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 So many people WOULD buy that form factor (HPC)! P
Guest tsutton Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Wow, I remember it. I kept pushing my mum to buy it but didn't as it was too expensive! lol Good to see it still woring!
Guest Kchrpm Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 My first one was a Compaq C120 that I got from Radio Shack for $100 when I was in high school. I took it with me almost everywhere, you never know when a brainstorm would need an outline in Word or some numbers crunched in Excel! The touchscreen died, then the whole thing did, and I eventually got that one (and 4 other PDAs, heh) while in college. A quick Googling puts the weight at 380 grams ;)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 I had a Philips Nino as my first CE device IIRC, and a Trium Mondo as my first CE phone ;) P

Guest Kchrpm Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 (edited) Too big for my pockets, and can't sync with work PC (no way they'd let me use my own). (Referring to the Asus) Edited November 11, 2007 by Kchrpm
Guest Kimbie Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 My first device like that was a Psion 5MX the one with the bigger memory and in the day used my Nokia 8210 as an IR modem for web surfing on it Kimbie

And all that weighs just ... 453 grams (that'll be about 4 times my Touch then) Oh those were the days. Using IrDA to connect to my Nokia 8210 for 9.6k email downloads.
