As far as I know, compimeh.dat is the Autocomplete dictionary for the SIP. 21MB sounds an awfully large file- have you been doing a lot of text entry, but allowing Autosave of unknown words? My compimeh.dat file is only 84KB. Probably the best bet, if you don't mind starting your Autocomplete from scratch, is to restart in Safe Mode, then try to move the file to a safe place for restoring if necessary. If it's hooked to the OS even in Safe Mode, you may be able to rename it using Resco (compimeh.old or something!).Either way, then do a soft reset, and the system should start a new blank copy.
Guest James Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Yep thsi is exactly what i did in the end (renamed, deleted and restarted), i have no idea why it got sooo big! as its only beem about a month since my last hard-reset... i think its somthing to do with my outlook push mail... still investigating! ;)
Guest Neil5459 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 At least it's sorted ;) One to keep an eye on though! I regularly run Tillanosoft Spacefinder to spot large files and folders- very small app, and free of charge too!
Guest jimbouk Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I use the find large files in start, settings, system tab, memory.
