Guest chaznet Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 There are a lot of tweaks waiting to be found that are specific to the Shadow -- know of any?
Guest chaznet Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 (edited) I found this one accidentally while trying to get the NavWheel alert light to continually signal a new item (currently, it flashes an alert briefly, then stops). After the change, the nav-wheel light still flashes for new mail, text, voicemail, and incoming calls -- but not all those other times (like when you use the d-pad, hit the app-button, etc). As quickly as the battery depletes on the Shadow, every little bit helps... HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd JogWheelMailEditEnable (not sure what this one is for) EnWheelLed (default is '1', change to '0') Reboot Edited November 12, 2007 by chaznet
Guest chaznet Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Keypad Touchtones -- On the Shadow, for some reason the 'Keypad Tones' setting was removed from the Sound setting screen. In the Profiles screens, you can turn them off by setting System Sounds to 'none', but it turns off >all< system sounds, not just the touchtone sound. When on, you hear the touchtone feedback when dialing a number; if you have 'System Sounds' set to 'high', it's VERY loud. Poking around on my Dash, I found the settings in the registry that get changed, and the Shadow accepts the changes without being application-unlocked. There are 3 settings: Click (every keypress sounds a click noise, touchtone feedback when dialing); Tone (when dialing a number, touchtone feedback); and None: HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Keypress Click BeepMode 0x1 (1) BeepScript p Category System Script p Sound HWandSW.wav Tone BeepMode 0x1 (1) BeepScript p Category System Script [bLANK, NO ENTRY] Sound HWandSW.wav None BeepMode 0x1 (0) BeepScript p Category System Script [bLANK, NO ENTRY] Sound HWandSW.wav
