Guest nevawlkalone Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 OMG, I have been having problems with Quick GPS so after some advice i opted for a hard reset <_< With sprite back up i had no probs backing up everything but the registry with the view of restoring everything and having quick GPS working fine. With the backup done iwas like " oh crap i wont have sprite, so i copied the program folder to my desktop and quite happily reset my vario. But wait, as i sat wiating for it to complete i was lookin at my open active sync window and noticed ARGH i hadnt moved the back up of my device....so i have now lost EVERYTHING and feel like a right spanner! So...in short, dont be a cluts and when you want to back up, make sure you move the backup file from your device BEFORE har resetting! :D :) :( ;) :( :D
Guest hotphil Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 That's gotta hurt! :-( I've got into the habit now of weekly full backups to Storage Card and PC. That way I should be covered if I'm on the move and need to do a hard reset/restore.

Guest losimagic Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 that's a regular SD card, not a micro SD
Guest nevawlkalone Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 rele i thort it was micro with card reader thingy
Guest hotphil Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) I got my 4GB (4GB seemed to be the best GB/£ when I looked) one from picstop.co.uk I think. I've also used MobyMemory in the past and had few problems. The SanDisk one I got from PicStop came with a micro-to-full adaptor. I'm not sure they're stocking the 8GB ones yet, but if you search for the earlier threads on these I think they'll be a link to a stockist. Edited November 12, 2007 by hotphil
Guest nevawlkalone Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Looks like im going to have to sit tight untill the 8GB comes out because i wont be buying a 6GB if they are available soon after!!!!!!
Guest hotphil Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) Your call, but personally I always take a look at the market just before I buy a memory card (and why, oh why, oh why can they not just all stick with one format?) and divide the GB by the cost and work out the most value at that time. Each to their own, but I'd rather have *some* storage available for when I get a new device than wait for the top amount possible (which I probably won't use anyway!). And whenever you buy a memory card, the 'next' capacity/format is always around the corner anyway. For my use (a few photos, program storage, half a dozen albums and a couple of films for when the iPod battery dies) 4Gb is enough for me. Oh, and if anyone asks me, I just tell them I have an 8GB card in there to impress them ;-) Edited November 12, 2007 by hotphil

Hehe we all blag every once in a while ;)
Guest Confucious Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 When 8Gb are available they will be expensive to start with but price will drop when 16Gb is just round the corner.... As with anyrthing top do with computers, there is always something bigger/better/cheaper just due out in a few months. For me, the 8Gb HD in my Ameo and 4Gb SD card are enough for now...

Im sure i have seen them around for 50quid but nit in stock. Yep, i think it is just a case of "one-up manship" Being one better than anyone else. Dont know, will prob settle for a 6gb now and then upgrade to 8 and slam the 6gb into my cars hedunit...who knows lol, it all cost though. Will sleep on it ha
