My Iphone is better than that!

Ugh it's been a few days since the release of the iPhone. I'm sure some people with their crazily expensive flashy thin bricks have waved it in front of you and given you reasons why their iPhone is better than you're brick of a phone?

This happened to me today, to and after showing him all the touchy stuff my Wizard could do and getting replies like "my iPhone can rotate the screen itself" weren't helping my argument.

I then relied on the one thing all Windows Mobile phones have always been able to do.

"but can you're iPhone do this!"

*opens bubble breaker and starts playing*

Him being a fan of bubble breaker on my phone made him fall silent.

(: How boring was that story that I thought I would share!

iPhone, meh. As i'm sure most people hear feel too.

To be honest, all credit to Apples marketing bods, they know how to make a device desirable, and there's no denying its a sexy piece of kit. The only thing that has been annoying me over the weekend though are the reporters who insist on claiming how groundbreaking the technology is.

1: Internet on your phone is not new, i have been doing this for 10 years+

2: Music on your phone is not new

3: Google maps on your phone is not new

4: Photos on your phone is not new

In fact, there is *nothing* new on the iPhone. Oh, except for visual voicemail. Wow...

I've nothing against buying sexy gadgets, but don't just *lie* about their features.

I don't really care for an iPhone particularly, but credit to Apple for making a smooth, effective finger friendly UI.

You don't need to play with it for long to realise the touchiness is implemented way, way better than anything we've seen on WinMo.

That said, I wouldn't dream of swapping my Kaiser for one ;)

Ive had mine for nearly 2 months now and still love the thing.....one of the best phones ive ever had,The way it works is incredible.

It is lacking in features ...Cant wait for gen2.

Still got a kaiser though cant see me getting rid of that.

Credit to Apple indeed, and perhaps a black mark on HTC etc for not raising awareness of their devices?

Technically the iPhone is nothing special, we know that. But the marketing has been spot-on, let's face it you would be hard pushed to find someone who hasn't heard of it, how many times have you whipped out a WinMo device and nobody knows what it is, or even knew such things existed, and it's not like they're new

WinMo can do plenty the iPhone can't, but until HTC et all start telling people about these little beauties they will remain excellent toys for the select few in the know
