I need to get a new cradle for my phone, but looking on the Brodit site im a tad confused about the 2nd and 3rd options http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/hold...odit-Holder.asp from what I can see both are called the same product but one is £20 more.

Why is this?

They have different methods of electrical connection

Option 2:

With cigarette ligther plug.

The active holder charges your battery when it is in the holder. The charging device connects to the PDA automatically when you put the PDA in the holder. The holder is attached onto a tilt swivel and can be adjusted in order to avoid light reflection. Connects to the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, 12/24 Volt. The holder fits devices both with standard and extended battery.

Option 3:

An active holder with a straight cable with open end for fixed installation and a cable with Molex adater system.

The cables are to be connected inside the dashboard, this gives a discreet, neat installation without cables hanging over the interior.You can choose to use the holder as an active holder only for charging, or to connect an adapter to the Molex connector for additional features. Then you can use the holder also for power supply of a GPS reciever, data transer or other own solutions.12/24 Volt. The product is E-approved. Connect the power cable with a 1,5 A fuse. 2 A charger. Professional installation recommended. The holder is attached onto a tilt swivel and can be adjusted in order to avoid light reflection.The holder only fits devices with standard battery. Attach onto ProClip Moutning Platform.

For fixed installation, with Molex adapter system. 2A charger.

With the Molex adapter system you can get power for a Bluetooth GPS receiver etc. (The device does not support datatransfer.)
