Synchronising Hermes with Vista WMDC

I wonder if anyone can help... I did something very stupid and upgraded to Vista. ;)

I am trying to set up a partnership on WMDC. I can't get any further than selecting the things I want to synchronise; the next dialogue box as the back arrow, th title "Set up Windows Mobile Partnership", the text "Ready to set up windows mobile partnership", and set up and cancel buttons.

None of the buttons work, but if I end the task using start manager it tells me the program is waiting for a response from me. It doesn't seem to notice if I disconnect the phone either. The problem is the same no matter what content I say I want to synchronize.

I can happily connect without setting up a partnership.

I have updated to the latest version of WMDC, checked firewall settings, and tried the usual restarting pc / phone mlarky.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

1) Try restarting the pc and the device and then reconnecting.

2) Try turning off USB-to-PC advanced fucntionality in connection settings.

Having said that my hermes always sync'd fine with WMDC 6.1 over rndis.

Still not having any joy, so I'm a bit stumped!
