Guest mandt Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) I cannot beleive I figured this out! One of the most annoying things about a Pocket PC's 'Pictures and Videos' app is the way you can't tell it where to look, jeez you need to click far to many times to get to the pic or vid you want Attached here are four shortcuts, in two zips, for you to drop into your Start Menu. Two for \My Documents\My Pictures and \My Documents\My Videos stored on the card Two for \My Documents\My Pictures and \My Documents\My Videos in main memory Enjoy ;) Main_Memory.zip Storage_Card.zip Oh and if your device saves your photos to DCIM\100MEDIA you can change that, to align with this new shortcut, by following this link UPDATED 27/11/07 Now with different icons for each shortcut (see post 7 for preview) Main_memory_different_icons.zip Storage_Card_different_icons.zip Edited November 27, 2007 by mandt

Guest sc0user_75 Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 UPDATE First post updated with new zips, each shortcut for 'Picures' and 'Videos' now has its own icon, Enjoy :( Preview: ........3 to go......... Thanks again Mandt  Appreciate this. Oh, and do we need to delete the other files first? Or can we just Overwrite your old files?
Guest mandt Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Overwriting the old shortcuts will be fine
Guest sc0user_75 Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Mandt, I need your help again mate. After I hard reset my phone, I went to install your icons again. But this time the video's icon does not show up. The pictures icon is fine. But Videos icon is a white screen with a blue strip at the top. I did a soft reset and still nothing. I did everything in exactly the same way as before!
Guest mandt Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Sounds like you haven't pasted the dll in properly. DL it again and make sure you paste videos.dll into \Windows
Guest sc0user_75 Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Sounds like you haven't pasted the dll in properly. DL it again and make sure you paste videos.dll into \Windows Thanks Mandt. Alas, the DL'ing again trick didn't work. So I soft reseted a couple of times. And after a few attempts it worked fine :(
Guest badbob001 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 My wm6 smartphone doesn't have a file called pimgres.dll so the icon trick doesn't work. But looking through the registry, there is some sort of alias called :pimgapp, so this works for me to show the pictures icon. 57#\Windows\pimg.exe -directory: \Storage Card\DCIM\100MEDIA?:pimgapp NOW, when the picture viewer opens \my documents\my pictures\, I see the camera shortcut icon, which is very convenient. Anybody know how to get the camera icon to appear when pimg is looking at another folder? There is some sort of setting or hardcoding that makes pimg show the camera when in the 'my documents\my pictures' folder. I would really like to change that to the folder on the storage card.
Guest walkmypath Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Thanks! absolutely fab. You should go join Microsoft n show them how it should be done!
