Guest genaldar Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Recently after setting up email on my wing (never checked my gmail using it so I set it up with a different account) every time I have email I get a sms with the title of the email and thats it. I'm sure I set it up the same way my gmail was set up (it never had the problem). I've even switched roms (I used to run the stock rom but now I'm using Touch IT 2.3). After setting it back up it after the flash it still has the same problem. And since I never text I don't have any kind of messaging plan, so each one costs me 15 cents. I'm not sure if its device specific or network related. Any ideas? I am running the proxy though, which shouldn't matter.

Guest jimbouk Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 As space race says, you must have set gmail to forward to an account that is set up to send text alerts. Or you have set GMAIL to forward to "[email protected]"
Guest genaldar Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 I'm not using gmail, I'm using email from my mail server. And as far as I know hmail doesn't even offer that as an option. I'm thinking its something weird with the T-Mobile network here, but I haven't heard anyone else complain about it. I guess I'll delete that account and set it up for a different account (either gmail of my never used isp mail account) and see if it still does it.

I was having the same problem with a new T-Mobile Wing. My old MDA worked just fine. In the end, I re-set to factory settings and set up the pop3 account again. I think the first time, I didn't set it up correctly.
