Guest 2ton Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 Hi, I won a HTC Touch at a recent Microsoft event. It’s a fantastic pocket PC but yesterday I put it in my pocket (inside its protective pouch) and when I took it back out the LCD was broken! There appears to be a fine black line through the screen with a black blob on it. The rest of the screen just lights up ‘white’ when the device is on. It seems to be just the LCD that is damaged but I can’t for the life of me work out how it happened. I didn’t drop it or bang into anything. It just seemed to brake so easily! Has anyone else had this problem? I’ve done some digging and there seems to be plenty of companies out there that repair LCD screens. I found this particular one http://www.mobilephonerepairs.co.uk. Has anyone used it or can anyone recommend a good repair company in the UK? Thanks in advance 2Ton
Guest petec500 Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Although i haven't tried it myself, you can buy replacement screens from ebay for a few quid. I'm sure i saw a post on this forum a few weeks back from someone who tried fitting one and succeeded. The post was titled "How easy is it to replace the screen" or something like that.

Guest mandt Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Pop along to your nearest Carphone Warehouse, they will replace your screen for around 40 Quid! I'm about to have my own Kaiser screen replaced by them
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Screens don't destroy themselves tho, you must have leaned against something or pressed accidentally with something? P
